Bison Goring: Elderly Woman Suffers Serious Injuries in Yellowstone

Wildlife Encounters Gone Wrong

An 83-year-old woman from South Carolina narrowly escaped death after being gored by a massive bison in Yellowstone National Park. The unprovoked attack occurred on Saturday near the Storm Point Trail at Yellowstone Lake, where the unsuspecting senior was enjoying the park’s breathtaking scenery.

A Clash of Wild and Human

According to the National Park Service (NPS), the bison became agitated as the woman approached. “Defending its space,” the animal lunged forward, coming within inches and lifting her nearly a foot off the ground with its powerful horns. The impact left her with serious injuries that required immediate medical attention.
