Tragedy on Riverside County Roads: Man Killed in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash

Riverside County was struck by a tragic event on May 11, when a single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 27-year-old man.

Fatal Crash at Intersection

Around 2:25 a.m., LA News Center learned of a fatal accident near the intersection of Monroe Street and Airport Boulevard in La Quinta. First responders found a Kia sedan overturned on the sidewalk, with the driver still trapped inside.

Trapped and Pronounced

Despite the efforts of emergency crews, they were unable to extricate the driver, who was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

Victim Identified

The deceased has been identified as David Seth Gonzales, a resident of Cathedral City. Preliminary investigations indicate that Gonzales was driving southbound on Monroe Street when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Airport Boulevard.

Investigation Ongoing

Deputies believe that Gonzales lost control of his vehicle, hitting the curb and two trees before coming to a tragic end. Authorities are still investigating to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
