Justice Served: Bicyclist Nabbed After Hit-and-Run that Injured Pedestrian


Lost Angeles, California – A bicyclist who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in Sierra Madre over two months ago has been arrested, authorities announced.

Hit-and-Run on North Baldwin Avenue

According to the LA News Center, the incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on February 3 near the intersection of North Baldwin and Montecito avenues. The unidentified pedestrian sustained significant injuries, while the cyclist fled the scene.

Exhaustive Investigation Leads to Suspect Identification

Detectives from the Sierra Madre Police Department launched an “exhaustive investigation,” which resulted in the identification of the suspect as John Gabriel, 49, of Los Angeles.

Arrest and Evidence Recovery

An arrest warrant was executed at Gabriel’s residence and a storage unit in Los Angeles. During the search, evidence related to the hit-and-run was recovered.

Formal Charges Pending

Gabriel was arrested and booked into the Pasadena Police Department jail for felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury. Formal charges by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office are still pending.
