USPS’s Call for Responsible Pet Ownership

The USPS is launching a nationwide awareness campaign to address the growing safety concerns for postal workers:

  • Leeann Theriault, USPS Manager of Employee Safety, emphasizes the importance of responsible dog ownership, urging owners to keep their pets restrained when mail carriers approach.
  • Mail carriers often face potential hazards, and dog encounters are among the most prevalent.
  • The USPS implores dog owners to keep their animals gated, leashed, or supervised when mail arrives.

By working together, we can create a safer environment for mail carriers, dog owners, and our furry friends alike.
