Indianapolis Colts Owner Jim Irsay Battling Severe Respiratory Illness

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is currently undergoing treatment for a severe respiratory illness, the team announced on Tuesday. The 64-year-old was expected to attend an event in Los Angeles this week, but unfortunately, he will have to miss it as he focuses on his recovery.

The team released a statement saying, “Jim Irsay is currently being treated for a severe respiratory illness. While this unfortunately means he won’t be able to perform with his band this week in Los Angeles, he is receiving excellent care and looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible.” The Colts ask for privacy and assure fans that no further information will be provided at this time.

Missed Event in Los Angeles

Jim Irsay had planned to host a free concert with his band at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Thursday. The event was also set to showcase his memorabilia exhibit. Unfortunately, due to his illness, he will not be able to attend.

A Legacy of Success

Jim Irsay’s father, Robert Irsay, took over ownership of the Colts in 1972 and remained the principal owner until his passing in 1997. Under Jim Irsay’s leadership, the Colts have achieved remarkable success, making 16 playoff appearances. One of their most memorable seasons was in 2006 when they won the Super Bowl with the help of Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.
