Man Steals Ambulance While Wearing Hospital Gown and IV

A daring escape took place outside Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia when a patient, still wearing a hospital gown and with an IV in his arm, walked out of his treatment and stole an ambulance. The incident occurred on Monday around 9:30 p.m., following a vehicle crash on I-66 where the suspect had been receiving treatment. The Fairfax County Police Department shared a photo of the suspect inside the stolen ambulance.

Where’s the Suspect?

While the stolen ambulance was later recovered, the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Rickey Lowe of Manassas, is still on the loose. Lowe, described as a 300-pound Black man with a shaved head and tattoos on his arms, remains wanted by the police.

A Daring Escape

After being involved in a crash on U.S. Route 50 earlier that day, Lowe was a passenger in a stolen vehicle from Manassas. The crash led investigators to discover two firearms and narcotics inside the vehicle. However, instead of staying put at the hospital, Lowe made a bold move by leaving his treatment with the IV still in his arm and hopping into a private transport ambulance, which he promptly stole.

Still on the Loose

Despite the recovery of the stolen ambulance, Lowe managed to evade capture, leaving authorities to search for him. The police are urging anyone with information regarding Lowe’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the investigation.
