In a heart-pounding incident that could have turned tragic, a motorist in San Bernardino narrowly avoided being crushed by a fast-approaching Metrolink train last Friday.
According to a statement posted by the San Bernardino Police Department on Instagram, the unidentified driver sped through an intersection, crashing into the safety barrier before coming to an abrupt stop on the tracks.
The impact rendered the driver’s Nissan Altima immobile, trapping the driver inside. However, quick-thinking pedestrians jumped into action, rushing to open the passenger-side door, allowing the driver to escape the perilous situation.
