A Deadly Night in Dallas
On Sunday morning, the vibrant streets of Dallas turned into a scene of unspeakable tragedy. A horrific shooting erupted, leaving nine innocent victims wounded and one young woman dead.
The incident unfolded outside a large house party on Collins Avenue. As the festivities ended, a massive crowd spilled onto the street. At 11:10 p.m., gunfire erupted, sending the gathering into chaos. Luckily, officers had already been nearby, monitoring the crowd. As the initial gunfire subsided, they remained on the scene to maintain order.
However, tragedy struck again at 1:35 a.m. A second round of shots was fired, this time striking nine people in the crowd of 45-50 individuals.
A Devastating Loss
Among the victims was 21-year-old Coriesha Bradford. Rushed to a hospital, Bradford succumbed to her injuries, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of her loved ones. Seven women and two men were also transported to local hospitals, suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary Investigation
Details surrounding the shooting are still emerging, but a preliminary investigation has revealed that both victims and shooters were part of the large gathering. One person is believed to have initiated the shooting, with the incident quickly escalating into gunfire.
Detectives strongly suspect gang involvement, although specific details have not been released. Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia has ordered an internal investigation into the police response, specifically whether the initial call could have been handled differently.
