The incident unfolded around 9:40 p.m. on Friday along Old York Road. Officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a shooting and found a 31-year-old victim inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Dashcam footage unearthed from the victim’s car tells a gripping tale. The video shows a black Nissan Murano approaching a traffic intersection. As the Murano pauses at a red light, the front passenger door swings open, and a male suspect emerges, brandishing a handgun.
Tension Escalates
The suspect approaches the victim’s vehicle with malicious intent, but to their surprise, the victim is also armed. The victim fires multiple shots, forcing the suspect to retreat.
In a desperate attempt to escape, the suspect’s accomplice, who had been sitting in the Murano, fires additional shots as the vehicle speeds away.
Manhunt Intensifies
Police have launched a manhunt for the two suspects, describing them as:
- Suspect 1: Black male wearing a black Balaclava-style mask, black zip-up jacket, white shirt, and dark pants.
- Suspect 2: Black male with a heavy build and full beard, wearing a black skull cap, glasses with black frames, a black Nike jacket, gray sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.
Witnesses reported seeing the suspects fleeing north on Old York Road towards Cheltenham Township.
Urgent Plea for Information
