Train and Bus Collide Near USC, Multiple Injuries Reported
What Happened
On Tuesday, April 29th, 2024, at approximately 11:54 AM, a Metro E line train and a USC transport bus collided on Exposition Boulevard between Normandie Avenue and Figueroa Street near the campus of USC in Los Angeles.
Injuries
The bus, operated by USC, reportedly had two occupants at the time of the crash. Both individuals were hospitalized, one sustaining minor injuries and the other with moderate injuries.
Multiple train passengers also suffered injuries. Nine individuals requested transportation to hospitals with minor injuries, and approximately 15 were treated at the scene. An estimated 30 people were aboard the train at the time of the incident.
Service Disruption
Metro E line service between the Expo/Vermont and Jefferson/USC stations has been suspended for an unspecified duration due to the crash.
Investigation
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
