Husband’s Heartbreak After Tragic Loss: Burbank Teacher Allegedly Murdered by Her Own Son
Burbank, Calif. – A husband grieves the unimaginable loss of his beloved wife, Karyn Lombardo, an elementary school teacher allegedly killed at the hands of their son.
The Devastating Discovery
On May 7, around 10 pm, police responded to a home on North Avon Street in Burbank. Inside, they discovered Karyn, 57, unconscious. Despite life-saving measures, she succumbed to her injuries.
A Family Torn Apart
Vince Lombardo, Karyn’s husband for 31 years, is devastated. “I’m just heartbroken,” he tells LA News Center. “She was my best friend, my soulmate.”
Their son, a 27-year-old man, has been arrested in connection with the crime. Authorities have not yet disclosed the suspected motive.
A Respected Educator
Karyn was a beloved fourth grade teacher at Bret Harte Elementary School. Her colleagues and students remember her as a kind and dedicated educator.
“She had a way of making every student feel special,” says Principal Melissa Rodriguez. “Her classroom was a place where learning was joyful.”
