A somber cloud hangs over the Long Beach community as the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) appeals to the public for assistance in solving the senseless murder of 17-year-old Briana Soto, whose promising life was cut tragically short on March 26.

The LBPD has released surveillance footage capturing the chilling moments leading up to the fatal shooting near the intersection of 11th Street and Lewis Avenue. The suspect, a male dressed in all black, his face partially concealed by a mask, was spotted lurking in the vicinity.

Chief Wally Hebeish of the LBPD implores anyone with knowledge about the suspect or suspicious activity on March 26 to come forward. “Someone, somewhere, has vital information that could lead to justice for Briana’s family and closure for our community,” he said.
