Tight End Travis Kelce to Debut as Actor in FX’s “Grotesquerie”

Travis Kelce, the star tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, is stepping into a new field with his latest venture – acting. He will be joining the cast of FX’s much-anticipated horror series, “Grotesquerie,” from prolific producer Ryan Murphy.

Behind-the-Scenes Reveal

The exciting news was revealed on actress Niecy Nash’s Instagram account where Kelce made a special appearance.

Guys, guess who I am working with on ‘Grotesquerie?’” Nash asked her followers. She then pans over to reveal Kelce, who smiles and waves.

“Jumping into new territory with Niecy,” the three-time Super Bowl champ says in the video.

Seasoned Entertainer

While this will be Kelce’s acting debut, he is no stranger to the entertainment world. In 2016, he starred in the reality dating show “Catching Kelce,” a unique twist on “The Bachelor.” He has also hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live” in 2023.

More On-Screen Opportunities

Adding to his entertainment credits, Amazon Prime announced in April 2024 that Kelce will host the new game show “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” In this show, celebrities from various fields will assist contestants with questions drawn from an elementary school curriculum.

Upcoming Terror Tale

Kelce’s involvement in “Grotesquerie” marks his first foray into horror. The series, currently in production, also features Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville. According to Deadline, it is slated for a Fall 2024 release, aligning perfectly with Kelce’s return to the field with the Chiefs.

Multifaceted Sports Star

Travis Kelce continues to demonstrate his versatility, both on and off the field. Beyond his exceptional football skills, his entertaining personality and charisma have allowed him to branch out into the entertainment realm. Whether it’s hosting game shows, delivering laughs on “Saturday Night Live,” or now starring in a horror series, Kelce proves himself to be a true modern-day renaissance man.
