Projected from eight to ten years, use cases are now anticipated to emerge within the next five to seven years.

“The development cycle has been accelerated, thanks to AI’s enhanced capabilities,” Li said.

The Rush to Capitalize

Recognizing the vast potential, companies are racing to tap into this opportunity. OpenAI supports humanoid robot startups while Elon Musk’s Tesla develops its own offering, dubbed Optimus. Electric car giant BYD has invested in Shanghai-based Agibot.

From Factories to Households

While the ultimate goal is to bring humanoid robots into homes, the focus for now remains on factories. China’s industrial robot installations have surpassed those of Japan, dominating over 50% of the global market.
