Taylor Swift’s Lyric Leads Swifties to London’s Black Dog Pub

With the release of her highly anticipated album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” Taylor Swift has sparked a global frenzy among her devoted fans. And one particular lyric from the song “The Black Dog” has led to an unexpected destination for ardent Swifties: a cozy pub called The Black Dog in London.

A Lyric and a Landmark

The song’s haunting lyrics describe watching an ex-partner visit a bar called The Black Dog. As if guided by a cosmic GPS, Swift’s loyal fanbase quickly pinpointed the unassuming establishment.

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, resides near Vauxhall, just a stone’s throw away from the pub. This discovery sent Swifties into a state of excitement, and soon, the pub became a pilgrimage site for Taylor’s devoted followers.

A Pub Transformed

Since the release of the album, The Black Dog has experienced an unprecedented surge in popularity. Amy Crowley, the pub’s marketing manager, shared with LA News Center, “We’ve been having to turn customers away every single day. It’s been an incredible journey for our team to be a part of this cultural moment.”

Embracing their newfound fame, The Black Dog has introduced Taylor Swift-inspired delights to their menu, including the “Aperol Spritz (Taylor’s Version)” cocktail. They’ve even started selling exclusive merchandise, catering to the growing legion of Swift superfans.

The Swifties’ Stampede

LA News Center met with a group of ardent Swifties who had made the pilgrimage to The Black Dog. Gracie and Ethan, siblings from Texas, shared, “We had to visit this place because of its connection to Taylor. After seeing the Crown Jewels and going to see Les Mis tonight, The Black Dog is equally important on our itinerary.”

London-native artist and avid Swiftie Chris Lloyd was busy sketching the pub’s exterior when we arrived. “Taylor has woven London into her life, and this pub has become a part of her story,” said Lloyd. “It’s amazing to see Swifties from London connect with Taylor on a more tangible level here.”

Lasting Impressions

Two sisters from New York, Jaquelyn and Daniella, took their love for Taylor Swift to the next level while vacationing in London. “We got matching tattoos here, inspired by her song ‘Seven,'” said Daniella. “My sister got the moon, and I got Saturn, because Taylor said, ‘I love you to the moon and to Saturn.'”
