The family of Alberto Vasquez, a 53-year-old man who was brutally beaten unconscious outside a West Hollywood nightclub, is pleading for help in identifying the suspect responsible for their loved one’s life-threatening injuries.

On the evening of April 5, Vasquez was enjoying a night out in the vibrant Rainbow District, known for its LGBTQ+ bars and restaurants. As he left the Flaming Saddles bar, he was suddenly attacked by an unknown individual.

According to family members, the assailant approached Vasquez without provocation and launched an unprovoked assault. The victim was knocked unconscious and suffered severe head and facial injuries. He remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Vasquez’s family believes the attack was motivated by hate, as he is openly gay. They are calling on the community to help identify the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, approximately 5’8″ tall with a thin build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

“My brother is fighting for his life right now. We need justice to be served,” said Vasquez’s sister, Maria. “Whoever did this needs to be held accountable for their actions.”

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the suspect or the attack is urged to contact detectives at (310) 855-5796.

Beating Caught on Camera

Surveillance footage obtained by KTLA News Center shows the moments leading up to the attack. Vasquez is seen walking out of the bar and towards his car when the suspect suddenly approaches him from behind. The suspect can be seen punching Vasquez in the head, then continuing to beat him while he is on the ground.

Community Outraged

The brutal attack has sparked outrage and fear within the LGBTQ+ community. Many have taken to social media to express their anger and support for Vasquez’s family.

Reward Offered

The family has offered a ,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

“We won’t stop fighting until we find justice for Alberto,” said Maria Vasquez. “We need your help to bring closure to our family and prevent other tragedies like this from happening.”
