Unprovoked Assault Shatters Life of Security Guard
In a heart-wrenching incident that has shaken the city, a 66-year-old woman, later identified as Mirna Soza, was brutally stabbed to death in an unprovoked attack aboard the Los Angeles Metro on Monday. The senseless act has left Soza’s family devastated and a community in mourning.
A Fatal Stabbing on the Move
As Soza made her way to work on a North Hollywood-bound train, tragedy struck around 9:50 AM. Witnesses reported seeing a transient man, Elliot Tramel Nowden, approach Soza and suddenly stab her in the throat with two small kitchen knives.
Escape and Capture
After inflicting the fatal wounds, Nowden fled the train at the Universal City B Line Station, leaving Soza bleeding profusely. She was assisted by security personnel and transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
A Suspect with a Troubled Past
Nowden, a 45-year-old homeless man, has a history of harassing and attacking Metro passengers. In July 2019, he was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. Despite serving a four-year prison sentence, he continued to frequent Metro stations after his release.
