Uncontrolled Truck Stunts Endanger Child; Driver Arrested

1

A chilling incident in San Bernardino County has landed a Highland man behind bars for child endangerment. The man, 21-year-old Alex Sanchez, was apprehended after unleashing a series of dangerous stunts in his black GMC Sierra pickup truck with a 3-year-old child precariously situated in the backseat.

A Parking Lot Playground Turns Perilous

On a fateful Friday, deputy sheriffs descended upon a closed business parking lot, where a sprawling crowd of up to 100 individuals had gathered. Among them, the deputies’ attention was drawn to Sanchez’s reckless driving display. Witnesses estimated that Sanchez performed approximately 100 donuts in the parking lot, putting the safety of nearby pedestrians at risk.

Unrestrained and Ill-Protected

But it wasn’t just the stunts themselves that raised eyebrows. Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities discovered the alarming fact that the 3-year-old child was not restrained by a car seat or any other safety device. This omission compounded the already serious nature of Sanchez’s actions.

A Sudden Stop to a Reckless Ride

Swiftly, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Sanchez, stopping the dangerous charade. Law enforcement officials noted that Sanchez intentionally accelerated his truck to high speeds, causing the tires to lose traction with the ground and sending the vehicle spinning uncontrollably.

The arrested suspect, Alex Sanchez, hails from Highland, a city in San Bernardino County.

A Wake-Up Call for Responsible Parenting

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the paramount importance of child safety and responsible parenting. The well-being of our youngest and most vulnerable citizens should always be the utmost priority.
