Bear Takes a Neighbourhood Stroll After Napping in a Tree

On Monday afternoon, a bear embarked on a remarkable adventure through a Castaic neighborhood after awakening from its peaceful slumber in a tree at the intersection of Violin Canyon Road and Van Gorder Way.

A Wildlife Encounter

As the bear descended from the tree, its presence startled onlookers. It scurried down and disappeared into the undergrowth before emerging and initiating a spirited footrace through the streets.

The LA News Center confirmed that both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and California Department of Fish and Wildlife had dispatched officers to the scene. Their mission: to tranquilize the bear to ensure its safe relocation away from human habitation.

The Chase Concludes

The bear’s flight eventually led it to a storm drain in Lake Castaic. There, its remarkable journey came to a temporary end as it disappeared into the darkness below.
