Gang Task Force Bust: Guns, Arsenal, and Two Felons Off the Streets of Beaumont

Unveiling a Hidden Cache

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Gang Task Force delivered a hefty blow to illegal gun operations in Beaumont on Thursday, seizing a staggering arsenal from a local residence. Acting on a search warrant, authorities descended on a property on the 300 block of 12th Street at dawn, setting in motion a meticulous operation.

An Eclectic Haul of Contraband

Inside the targeted home, officers found an astonishing array of weapons and gun-related equipment that would send shivers down any law enforcement officer’s spine:

  • 17 firearms in various calibers
  • Myriad firearm components, some nearing completion for assembly
  • Specialized firearm manufacturing machinery
  • Several firearm suppressors, designed to muffle gunshot sounds
  • 4 Ballistic plate carrier vests with steel ballistic plates for enhanced protection
  • Ballistic helmets, shielding wearers from head injuries
  • Numerous high-capacity magazines, capable of holding dozens of rounds
  • Tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition, ready for use

Two Convicted Felons in Custody

Investigative efforts led to the arrest of two Beaumont locals: Ronald Partain Jr, 54, and Michael Ortega, 46. Both men are known to law enforcement as convicted felons, making it illegal for them to possess any firearms under federal law. They now face a litany of weapons-related charges and are currently lodged at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility.

Unearthing a Dangerous Underground

The discovery of such a significant cache of illegal weapons underscores the pervasive nature of firearms in the wrong hands. As law enforcement agencies work tirelessly to combat the proliferation of illicit guns, such raids serve as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by firearm misuse.
