Deodorant Thief Makes Off with ,000+ in Odorless Crime

The halls of a local CVS in Agoura Hills recently witnessed an audacious theft, leaving authorities puzzled and the community wondering, “What’s the point?”

On March 17th at 8:40 PM, a man entered the drug store, his intentions far from medicated. Surveillance cameras captured the suspect nonchalantly sauntering in, armed with a Target reusable bag. His target? The deodorant aisle.

With clinical precision, the suspect methodically filled his bag with various brands and scents of deodorant, the total value amounting to a staggering ,196.98. Then, as if he were merely purchasing some fresh produce, the suspect calmly walked out of the store without paying a dime.

Un fragrant Suspect

Despite the odorless nature of his loot, the suspect was caught on camera. He is described as a male Hispanic wearing blue scrubs over a white t-shirt. What remains a mystery is his motive. Was he planning a deodorant empire? An armpit-themed auction?

Black Market Bonanza

While the man’s intentions may be unclear, the fate of stolen retail merchandise often leads to an unsavory recipient: the black market. Here, stolen goods are resold at deep discounts to street vendors, swap meet vendors, and other outlets that have little interest in following the rules.

Fighting Back Against Retail Theft

Recognizing the surge in organized retail theft, the Los Angeles Police Department has joined forces with various agencies to launch the Organized Retail Theft Task Force. Since its inception in August, the task force has recovered a staggering .2 million in stolen merchandise and made over 346 arrests.

Witness Sought

Anyone with information about this peculiar deodorant theft or who recognizes the suspect in the released photos is urged to call the LA County Sheriff’s Department at 818-878-1808. If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can call the LA Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-222-8477 or leave tips online at LA Crime Stoppers.

As the hunt for the deodorant thief intensifies, one can’t help but wonder if his latest heist has set a new bar for odorless crime. Whatever his motives may be, authorities are determined to put a stop to this nose-thumbing act of theft.
